If so, we welcome you to apply to become a Customer Service Agent with Junkanoo Air, a brand new Bahamian-owned and operated airline servicing the islands of The Bahamas from its base in Nassau.

What is a Customer Service Agent?

Customer Service Agents are responsible for a wide range of customer-servicing tasks and functions. They provide legendary customer service by handling ticketing, baggage check-in, baggage claims, reservations, information inquiries and the resolution of complaints and problems posed by customers.

Company Ambassadors are the face and heart of Junkanoo Air – our customer’s opinion of the company and brand are largely set by the interactions that they have with our Ambassadors.

What does a Customer Service Agent do?

In short, Customer Service Agents provide our customers with an outstanding experience by providing exceptional service from start to end. Some of the daily duties for this role are listed below. The list is not to be considered comprehensive.

  • Handling all aspects of ticketing and check-in by operating a computerized point-of-sale system, boarding, baggage service, reservations and resolving related complaints and problems;
  • Greeting and handling customers in a polite and friendly manner;
  • Handling cash, checks, credit cards, travel vouchers and coupons as forms of payment for tickets;
  • Computing charges, makes changes and balances daily transactions;
  • Checking in baggage and cargo;
  • Answering the telephone to provide information to callers, page customers, resolve problems or complaints and assist as needed;
  • Handling transactions required to board the aircraft in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Dealing with mishandled and often angry Customers as a result of oversales delayed or canceled flights and lost, delayed, or damaged luggage. Resolves such problems quickly and to the satisfaction of the customer, within the guidelines established by the Company;
  • Providing current and accurate fare, schedule, reservations, flight arrival/departure information and answers all general inquiries from Customers and other visitors to the airport terminal;

Requirements

  • Able to obtain Airport Authority-issued Identification badge by meeting all requirements (available via the Airport Authority only and at their discretion following their due diligence process)
  • Must naturally display friendliness and kindness through actions, non-verbal cues, body language and through a winning smile
  • Be able to operate a computer and a variety of software applications and input/output devices like printers and digital scales
  • Must be able to work under pressure and maintain composure when faced with highly stressful situations
  • Must be punctual
  • Able to work shifts that occur at different times of the day and on any day of the week (including weekends)
  • Must maintain the ability to wear prescribed uniforms
  • Must be able to regularly lift baggage weighing up to 70lbs over short distances
  • Must be able to stand for long periods without experiencing discomfort
  • Able to communicate professionally, clearly and with a good command of the English language
